Ingredients
- --FILLING--
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- --CRUST--
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup Leaf Lard
- dash of salt
- 1/2 tbsp vinegar
- 1/4 cup milk
- --TOPPING--
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350º F
- --FILLING--
- In a medium bowl, combine the flour, white and brown sugar. Mix well.
- Stir in the heavy cream, milk and vanilla
- --CRUST --
- Combine the flour and lard, mix with a pastry blender or two knives until small bits.
- Add salt and vinegar to milk and stir.
- Combine milk mixture with flour mixture.
- Blend; shape into a ball wrap and chill for 2 hours.
- Roll out on a floured pastry board. Arrange pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and
- Dot bottom with butter. Pour filling into crust.
- --TOPPING--
- In small bowl mix together the cinnamon and remaining 3 tablespoons sugar. Sprinkle on top of pie.
- Bake at 350º for about 1 hour or until the center is firm and set.
- Cool on a wire rack. Refrigerate before serving. Serve cold
